If winter got you down, pick yourself up with this year's "Get Fresh in the Valley Passport Program" on the weekends of April 11&12, 18&19 and 25&26, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
The wineries of the Niagara's Twenty Valley have joined forces with local executive chefs to craft spring inspired recipes for the Get Fresh in the Valley Spring Cookbook. The cookbook is a special addition to the traditional passport program which invites wine lovers to sip new vintage and aromatic wines paired with spring inspired dishes at 22 wineries spanning from St. Catharines to Beamsville.
Passport holders will collect a recipe card at each stop along the Get Fresh route to complete the Get Fresh in the Valley Spring Cookbook. Contributing chefs include: Justin Downes of Vineland Estates Restaurant, Frank Romano of On the Twenty Restaurant, Matt Hemmingsen of The Restaurant at Peninsula Ridge and of Therese DeGrace of the Good Earth Food and Wine Co. Sue-Ann Staff, President of the Twenty Valley Tourism Association and Winemaker at both Sue-Ann Staff Estate Winery recommends Get Fresh as, "the perfect opportunity for wine lovers to taste a portfolio of new vintage wines recently released by the wineries of the Twenty Valley and to learn about the great pairing ideas featured in the complimentary cookbook."
Get Fresh takes place on the weekends of April 11&12, 18&19 and 25&26, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Passports are $40.00(+HST) and are valid for one taste-filled weekend. Passports include a wine and food pairing at each participating winery, a Get Fresh in the Valley Cookbook and a free workshop (Saturdays only) at the
Watering Can Flower Market in Vineland. Designated Driver passports are $30.00(+HST) and include a nonalcoholic
mocktail and a food pairing at each winery. The Designated Driver program is sponsored by Cherry Lane Frozen Fruits.
Again this year guests can also travel the Get Fresh route with buses provided by DanNel Transportation on Saturdays for $49.00 per person, per day, taxes included. For reservations contact Brian at 905-934-1124. Check out our other transportation partner's offers as well.
Can't take a whole weekend off? Our Sunday passport is the answer! It entitles you to attend Get Fresh for all three Sundays. Take your Sunday passport to 13th Street Winery & the Watering Can on Saturday and they will honour your Sunday passport.
New to this year's Get Fresh program every passport holder will have their name entered to win a private dinner for ten at Twenty Valley's most sought after wine and culinary destinations. Lucky foodies will experience the culinary opportunity of a five-course private dinner and award winning wine pairings. This culinary feast will be prepared for you by either Chef Justin Downes at Vineland Estates Winery Restaurant or Chef Frank Romano at the Inn on the Twenty. In addition, you and your guests will be provided overnight accommodations and a wine tour,
tasting and wine gift package from 13th Street Winery.
